Intelligent control of interconnected manufacturing infrastructures (i-CNC)

i-CNC develops and integrates an end-to-end use case in CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) machining that changes the current human-based trial-and-error chattering supervision paradigm towards a cloud-based and AI-enabled autonomous chattering control. A key enabler for this use case is a 5G network allowing reliable and low latency data collection from CNC machines to a central cloud infrastructure. The related trial for the use case targets a) measuring and analysing reliable indicators related to the progress of the milling process, the machine state, and the workpiece conditions and b) applying remote and instant decision-making that can guarantee operation compliance with the manufacturing standards.
