Torino4U
When it comes to cultural heritage, not everyone has the same interests. Having won the "Future City" call from CTE Next, Stendhapp is currently finalising a 5G-enabled prototype that tests machine learning on a user profiling algorithm, able to suggest nearby events and cultural venues based on user behaviours and image recognition.
The Torino4U project extends the experimentation to a larger area of the city in order to get to a larger scale trial, both in terms of several users involved - testing with the general public - and in terms of several cultural locations described through VR/AR content. The Turin municipality has confirmed its interest in a vertical use case built on Turin UNESCO Creative City to enhance tourism focused on the theme of design, expanding its touristic offerings through the fruition of digital content in VR/AR in several locations across the city.
This initiative is aligned with the Ministry of Tourism program for promoting municipalities belonging to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Turin is working on the implementation of 6 interventions over the two-year
period 2024-2025, among which is the mapping of Turin design places: historical and contemporary design creations will be enhanced in this use case, involving student classes, tourists and citizens engaged by VR/AR content easily accessible via their smartphones.
T4U provides the robustness needed to prepare for 6G technology.
