IMAGINE-B5G

The “SIMONE” project, which stands for “Evaluating immerSIve coMmunicatiOn for eNhanced remote Education”, aims to evaluate an immersive remote education service over Beyond 5G (B5G) networks, by leveraging the Norwegian facility of the IMAGINE-B5G project. Our goal is thus to empirically characterise the performance of an immersive remote education service that can enhance teacher-student (i.e., instructor-trainee) communication and dynamics thanks to B5G networks and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies. The results from SIMONE are applicable across a broad range of educational scenarios, including engineering studies, art education (e.g., music), and healthcare personnel training, where real-time and interactive demonstrations are essential. The SIMONE project is jointly carried out by Karlstad University (KAU) and Softcode.
