Ultra Low Latency M2M Communications for Fabrication Systems

Future Smart factories require reliable and deterministic networks for critical industrial applications. The convergence of TSN and private 5G enables end-to-end deterministic connectivity and consistent performance to support Industry 4.0. The project focuses on integrating TSN features with 5G. TSN translators are developed to translate TSN-specific data formats and protocols into 5G compatible format and vice versa for deterministic transmission of different traffic classes. An end-to-end integrated 5G and TSN system will be developed and multiple data streams with different priority will be generated to test system performance. This implementation will enable the 5G system to act as a logical bridge connectinh wired TSN environments and industrial applications.
