FLECON-6G

Public Safety Services

Public safety communication systems are often challenged by the stringent demands of emergency response scenarios, which require real-time information sharing, reliable connectivity, and robust coordination among first responders. To address these challenges, a Proof of Concept (POC) within the FLECON 6G platform has been developed to significantly enhance situational awareness, response coordination, and decision-making capabilities during emergencies.
The POC involves the deployment of a server component, composed of virtual machines, on the FLECON 6G platform. This server acts as the backbone of the Airbus critical communication solution, providing a secure and reliable infrastructure for mission-critical services. User Equipment (UE) devices, specifically smartphones running the Android operating system, will be utilized by first responders or policemen. These smartphones will have the Airbus secured communication application installed, ensuring that all communications are secure.
The UEs will be connected to the server, enabling seamless and secure communication channels. This setup allows for the simulation of various emergency situations using mission-critical services such as push-to-talk communication. Push-to-talk functionality is particularly valuable in emergency scenarios as it enables instant, clear, and reliable voice communication, like traditional walkie-talkies but with the added benefits of modern technology.
