FIDAL

WOLF

The project addresses one of the main challenges in the Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR) domain, more specifically during wildfire events, where low visibility and the dangerous terrain make it difficult to acquire real-time information regarding the location of civilians or animals in danger.
WOLF provides real-time detection and tracking of humans and wildlife during hazardous wildfire events by leveraging Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology, in the form of drones equipped with AI-powered video analytics, integrated within FIDAL’s advanced 5G infrastructure. This low-latency system ensures that first responders and command centers receive actionable information in real time, for faster and more informed decisions towards saving lives.
The solution is demonstrated within the Patras5G/PNET testbed in Greece, showcasing real-time bidirectional communication between drones, cameras, first responders, and command centers.
Through its large-scale field trial and integration with FIDAL’s digital twin, WOLF aims to improve situational awareness and operational efficiency for civil protection and fire service authorities and to generate significant socio-economic impact.
