The sensing-assisted communications PoC aims to demonstrate how user cell positioning data coming from sensing services can be used for energy savings in future mobile networks. The main idea of the PoC is to leverage the sensing functionalities of RUs to improve energy efficiency, and to make use of RIS panels to reduce energy consumption by switching off RUs. The PoC also showcases dynamic changes in the reflector depending on the sensed user location.
