6G-SANDBOX
Testing the integration of an open-source 5G FR2 gNB with the 6G-SANDBOX Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface
The main objective of this experiment is to test and validate the 6G-SANDBOX RIS technology, developed by Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) and available at the University of Malaga. We will run end-to-end 5G NR FR2 tests using the OAIBOX mmWave and commercial UEs. Various indoor scenarios will be tested, including using the RIS for coverage extension and to avoid LOS blockage. The RIS reconfigurability capability to support UE mobility will also be tested in realistic indoor environments.
