Energy Efficiency and Traffic Steering Use Cases

6G-LEADER PoC #3 addresses evaluation, validation, and demonstration of two use cases for Energy Efficiency (switching on/off the cells) and Traffic Steering (to manage the traffic and achieve balanced cell load), which are of particular interest for the future 6G networks. These two use cases will potentially generate conflicts in the 6G Open RAN where xApp(s)/rApp(s) dedicated to these use cases will impose different and possible conflicting demands on optimisation priorities and control actions of the network. For 6G-LEADER, this PoC will demonstrate an AI/ML-driven Conflict Manager to determine mitigation policies that can quantifiably demonstrate optimal 6G RIC operation for these use cases.
